This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. Breaking it may lead to suspension or termination.
1. Do not use Exportly to break the law
You must not use the service to plan, assist or conceal:
- evasion of export controls, sanctions or embargoes, including UK, EU, US or UN measures
- evasion of customs duty, import tax or VAT
- the movement of prohibited goods, or of controlled goods without the required licence
- misdeclaration of goods, value, origin, quantity or destination
- money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other criminal purpose
This is not a formality. If a Route Card tells you a licence is required or that goods are prohibited, using the service to find a way around that is a breach of this policy and may be a criminal offence. Where we are required to report something, we will.
2. Do not misrepresent what Exportly is
You must not present output from the service as:
- customs, legal or tax advice
- a binding tariff ruling or an official determination
- issued, endorsed or approved by HMRC or any government body
- verified by a customs professional, unless one has actually verified it
You may share a Route Card with your own carrier, broker, buyer or adviser. You must not strip the confidence markings, sources or disclaimer from it, or present it in a way that implies more certainty than it carries.
3. Do not abuse the service technically
You must not:
- attempt to gain access to another organisation's data, or to any account that is not yours
- probe, scan or test the security of the service without our prior written permission
- circumvent rate limits, authentication, seat limits or plan limits
- scrape the service, or use automated means beyond any API we provide, at a rate that degrades it for others
- upload malware, or content designed to interfere with the service
- reverse engineer the service, except where the law says you may
Responsible security research is welcome. Contact us first at security@exportly.uk and we will not pursue good-faith testing carried out under agreed terms.
4. Do not resell it as your own
Without our written agreement you must not resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as though it were yours, or use it to build a competing product.
Using it to advise your own clients is fine. Passing our output off as your own service is not.
5. Seats are per person
Each person using the service needs their own seat. Sharing one login between people is a breach — it also breaks the audit trail, which is the thing that tells you who ticked off which document.
6. Accurate information
Give accurate product information. The service can only reflect what you tell it, and a Route Card built on a wrong description is wrong in a way that looks right.
7. What we may do
Where we reasonably believe this policy has been broken we may investigate, suspend access, remove content, terminate the account, or report the matter. Where the breach is serious or unlawful we may act without notice.
8. Reporting
Report misuse to hello@exportly.uk.
